Philip Kiracofe

Philip Kiracofe, Chief Adventurist, Horizon Partners, presents at the MCC Transportation Transformation Global Summit.Since arriving in NYC in 1994, Mr. Kiracofe has been deeply immersed in technology, real estate, and entrepreneurial ventures. He has co-founded or led a diverse range of companies including a pioneer online grocery service company, an India-based venture capital fund, the first large-scale social networking site, and a NY-based property development firm.

In 2009, he founded Horizen Partners to incubate far-reaching projects based on the foundations of innovation, adventure and sustainability.  Current projects include Horizen Ventures (early stage VC), Mountain Bike Ayiti (social venture promoting adventure tourism), Stik.com (Facebook-integrated referrals) and Failure Club (a collaboration with Morgan Spurlock where members pursue ambitious dream projects). He has advised South African start-ups including Over, Springleap, and Personera and is now raising a new venture fund in Cape Town.

In his leisure time, Philip’s interests range from adventure and endurance events (he has climbed Mt Kilimanjaro, completed two Ironman triathlons and the Comrades Marathon) to wine (Failure Club wine). He sits on the Board of Directors for the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce and has served as President of the Manhattan Association of Realtors.

Philip attended the United States Air Force Academy, where he studied Computer Science and Behavioral Science.  He currently splits his time between Cape Town and midtown Manhattan.
